Dances of Universal Peace
Third Sunday of the month 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Next Dance June 18th The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music and movements from the many spiritual traditions of the earth to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and recognize it in others.
The Dances promote peace and integration within individuals and understanding and connection within groups worldwide. There are no performers nor audience: new arrivals and old hands form the circle as everyone sings and dances together. Jen Friedman and Britt Ripley lead a warm and welcoming Dance circle that invites us into a rich contemplative experience while also creating space for us not to take ourselves too seriously; encouraging open and heartfelt connection to arise naturally within the group. The Dance website is www.dancesofuniversalpeacena.org
Our dance leader, Jen Friedman, MDiv, is an interfaith minister, spiritual director, hospital chaplain, and certified leader and mentor in the Dances of Universal Peace tradition. She has led the Dances for 10 years and has been a guest leader at Dance camps and retreats throughout the United States and abroad in Canada and South America. She believes in the power of the Dances to cultivate authentic, meaningful, and peaceful relationship with our selves, our community, and our world.

Facilitated by MJoy
Tuesdays 10:30 to 11:30 am
You are invited to join in a fun, joyous gathering of women finding their way to greater self-expression individually as ‘a woman of movement’ and as a group of women who are able to appreciate each others beauty & value through the gift of movement! A time of movement, dance, and motion …to bring you into more expression, new experiences and fun with all that is embodied, flowing and perhaps forgotten in how your body can and still wants to move! “It’s not about your age, size, shape, or weight…it IS about what moves you from your being and your breath…finding YOUR own inner mover is the key! Bring scarves or shawls to enhance your experience while you move for fun, greater health, flexibility, mobility, balance & grace! Go barefoot or wear yoga or “gripper” socks. Physical limitations will be given consideration & suggestions will be made for your comfort & safety.
MJoy's love of movement began with being danced with by her ballroom, square dancing and folk dancing parents. She still enjoys dancing ballroom, Latin, modern-interpretive, jazz and free style!
