Tai Chi is a mind-body exercise utilizing slow, relaxed movement, a quiet mind and
deep, natural breathing that stimulates the flow of chi (intrinsic energy).
When the chi flows harmoniously, the mind, body and spirit are in balance, enhancing
one's physical and mental well-being, relieving stress and improving health.

In this class we will learn and review the entire 37 posture Yang short form.
Mondays 12:30pm-1:30pm - Beginning
Learn and review the basics, including mental focus, postural awareness and
correct mechanics of each move. Attention is given to relaxation, mind-body
connection, and the first third of the 37 posture Yang short form.
5 Elements Qigong with Wes Chaplin
Tuesdays 5:40 to 6:35 pm; drop-in, by donation
Qigong is a traditional Chinese health practice that combines meditation, breathing, relaxation, and stretching techniques. Through coordination of breath and movement, relaxation and stretches are done in a standing position to help strengthen the body while promoting overall health. The 5 Elements Qigong creates a balance of the 5 major organ systems of the body as classified in traditional Chinese medicine, including the heart, kidneys, lungs, and digestive systems. Each of the key postures also helps body alignment in both the skeletal and muscular system. Each class will focus on the foundations of all qigong practice with breathing techniques and relaxation, as well as the specifics of individual postures of the 5 Elements Qigong.

About the instructor:
Wes spent over 5 years living in central China as Daoist (Taoist) monk studying traditional health practices including Qigong, Tai Chi, Meditation, and Acupressure.
