Mixed Level Iyengar Yoga
Monday 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
We'll explore basic and intermediate poses in this class. More experienced students will be given options for more challenging work. At least 3 months of a beginning level Iyengar Yoga is recommended. If you need a class with more support, please attend Fundamentals of Yoga.
Fundamentals of Yoga
Thursday 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
In these classes you’ll learn and practice the basic poses (asanas) and principles of alignment as taught in the Iyengar tradition. These classes are ideal for beginners, for students who prefer a more supported, slower-paced class, and for anyone who would like to review the fundamentals of yoga as taught in the Iyengar method.
About Karen Coupland
I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and E-RYT 500, currently living in Longmont, CO. I have been practicing yoga since 1993, and teaching since 1999. Before moving to Colorado in 2019, I owned and taught at a small Iyengar Yoga studio in Ann Arbor MI for 12 years.
My classes are generally geared toward "mature bodies", i.e., active middle-aged and older adults. I'm in that category myself, and I understand that our bodies just don't move the same way as when we were younger. Luckily, Iyengar Yoga, the method that I am trained and certified in, is well-suited for being adapted to different life stages and situations.
